Paraffin is a commonly used wax  for affordable candles. It can also be combined with other waxes such as soy wax  to impart hardness and create a firm wax mix for molded candles.
 
It’s also often used in skin-softening salon and spa treatments on the hands, cuticles, and feet because it’s colorless, tasteless, and odorless.
